scored the lone goal to achieve the 1-0 win, while the visitors' Nacho Fernandez left the game with a red card.
Fran Garcia later said, "We wanted to end the year on a high note and we're happy because we got three important points. The red cards helped show the hard work and dedication of this team."
He went on to say, "After the red card we knew we had to stick together, we came away with very positive emotions and it's time to recharge our batteries because the most important part is yet to come."
Speaking about Vazquez's goal, he added: "I was blocking at the back and saw it very clearly. I saw how he ran and shrugged off his man.
Especially the timing of the goal, it was incredible. Madrid are just different and always hold on until the end. I'm happy for Lucas."
