In a thrilling FA Cup semi-final match, Manchester United were three goals up when Coventry held on to equalize, and it was only through penalties that they advanced to the final, where they will meet Manchester City for the title.

In the first half of the game, United showed great offensive firepower. McTominay and Maguire each scored to help their team take a two goal lead. In the second half, B Faye added another goal to give United a 3-0 lead, which looked like a sure win. However, Coventry did not give up and mounted a furious comeback.

Sims scored for Coventry in the 70th minute to blow the comeback. Just nine minutes later, O'Hare added a second goal to bring the score to 2-3, and in the fifth minute of injury time, Wan Bissaka gave Coventry a penalty kick after a handball foul in the box, which Haji Wright converted to level the score at 3-3.

Into extra time, the two sides engaged in a fierce battle. Coventry created a number of good chances to score, but unfortunately could not capitalize on them. In the first minute of the extra time, Tolp's strike was disallowed due to offside, leaving the Coventry fans disappointed.

The game eventually went to penalties. United had Casemiro's shot parried in the first round, but then Onana pounced on an opponent's penalty in the third round, and Coventry's penalty taker kicked high again himself. With Hoylund's solid hit, United won the penalty shootout 4-2, eliminating Coventry 7-5 on aggregate and advancing to the FA Cup final.
