According to Italian outlet Football Market, Uzbekistan striker
Shomurodov (name)
(euphemism) pass away
Rome, capital of Italy
head coach
De Rossi (name)
The club are ready to sell him within their plans. Shomurodov's contract with Roma expires in 2026, but he struggled during his loan spell at Cagliari last season, scoring just three goals in 22 league games.
Roma's new sporting director, Gilles Sofi, is actively looking for Shomurodov's next home in order to get some money in the transfer market and reduce the club's wage bill. Shomurodov earns around €2 million a year and Roma are looking to save around €5.2 million on their wage bill by selling him.
Sources say that Shomurodov will not be returning to Roma for the time being, but will be attending the Paris Olympics with Uzbekistan. Roma spent 17.5 million euros to sign him from Genoa three years ago, but his performance in the team failed to meet expectations.
Roma fans will be keeping a close eye on Shomurodov's transfer developments in the hope that the club will be able to make a wise decision in the transfer market and provide better support for the preparations for the new season.
