An agreement in principle has been reached and the transfer is in full swing.

Marseille had previously reached an agreement with Manchester United on a transfer fee totaling €31.6 million, of which €27.6 million is a fixed fee and another €4 million is a floating clause. United will also retain a large share of Greenwood's share of future secondary transfers. Significant progress has been made in the transfer negotiations after all parties waited for Greenwood himself to give his nod of approval. Greenwood has now verbally agreed with Marseille and all parties are working to finalize the transfer.

Greenwood will also need to travel to France to undergo a medical and sign a contract before a transfer agreement can be finalized. The 22-year-old England striker spent last season on loan in La Liga
