On July 17, The Athletic's David Ornstein reported that
Manchester United Football Club
Efforts are being made to finalize the agreement with
Lille (city in France)
The signing of 18-year-old French defender Leni
Jolo
has flown to England to undergo a medical and finalize personal terms. The deal has a transfer fee of €62 million and Lille have accepted an initial offer from Manchester United.
Although Yolo initially favored joining La Liga giants Real Madrid, United's sincerity and concrete actions have impressed the young defender. There are still a few details to be worked out on United's part, but the deal is now very close to being finalized.
Lenny Yoro's performances at Lille have attracted the attention of many of Europe's top clubs, and the talented 18-year-old defender is known for his excellent defensive skills and calm presence on the pitch. At 1.85 meters tall, he has the speed and skill to excel not only on the defensive end, but also to provide support in attack.
Yoro made 28 appearances for Lille in the 23-24 season, showing his great potential in Ligue 1.
The addition of Yolo will be a significant addition to the United defense. United are always on the lookout for young players who can improve the team in the long run, and Yolo's arrival fits into that strategy.
