Eddie Howe is now reportedly emerging as one of the top candidates to replace Southgate. The FA has been informed that the Newcastle boss is interested in coaching the England national team.

Eddie Howe, 46, was previously in charge of Bournemouth for a long period of time and managed to steer the team away from relegation pressure after taking over at Newcastle United and had led the team to European qualification.

The FA had previously been awaiting a final decision from Southgate, but they are also actively conducting due diligence on future England bosses to ensure that they are prepared for any future appointments.
