Real Madrid Football Club and Luka Modric have reached an agreement to extend the contract of our captain until June 30, 2025.
Modric joined Real Madrid in 2012 and in his twelve seasons with our team, he has become a legend in Real Madrid and world soccer.
At Real Madrid, he won 26 titles: six Champions Leagues, five Club World Cups, four UEFA Super Cups, four La Liga's, two Copa del Rey's and five Spanish Super Cups. Modric is one of five players to win six Champions Leagues and holds the most titles in the club's history.
In terms of individual honors, Modric won the Ballon d'Or, the FIFA Best Player Award and the Best Player in Europe Award in 2018. He has been named in the FIFA Team of the Year six times and was twice named the best midfielder in the Champions League. He has won one Golden Ball and one Silver Ball at the Club World Cup. For the Croatian national team, he won the 2018 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball and the 2022 FIFA World Cup Bronze Ball.
Modric has played 534 games for Real Madrid, scoring 39 goals, and is also a Croatian national team international, representing the national team a record 178 times. Modric played 46 games for Real Madrid last season, half starting and half coming off the bench, totaling 2,243 minutes and scoring two goals and assisting eight times. His partner Toni Kroos, 34, has announced his retirement after playing in the Euros this summer.
