Official Statement]

Real Madrid Football Club announces that the Fifth Court of First Instance and Investigation of the Madrid Parra has today issued a condemnatory judgment against a person who made statements under various pseudonyms in the forums of the digital edition of the newspaper Marca, in which he made serious racist attacks and insults against our players Vinicius Júnior and Antonio Rüdiger.

Specifically, the defendant was found guilty of two offences against moral integrity committed against Vinicius Junior and Antonio Rüdiger, both of which were aggravated by racist motives and, in the case of Antonio Rüdiger, contempt for his religious beliefs.

The court had sentenced the defendant to eight months' imprisonment and a ban on speaking on the platform for a period of twenty months. The suspended sentence is conditional on the defendant attending training courses related to equality and anti-discrimination.

This is the second time that someone has been criminally convicted for racist insults against Real Madrid players, and it is also the first time that a person has been pronounced guilty of an insufferable offensive remark related to Real Madrid on social media.

Real Madrid, which filed a private prosecution in the proceedings along with Vinicius Junior, will continue to work to protect the values of our club and eliminate any racist behavior in soccer and sports.

Finally, Real Madrid appreciated the sense of cooperation shown by the fans, who immediately conveyed the message to the authorities and to us after the discovery of the insults on the Marca forum.
