The game was postponed due to the entrance of many ticketless fans and poor security management. A number of ticketed fans claimed that they were not admitted and were attacked by police and security personnel.
"Hard Rock Stadium has safely hosted hundreds of world-class events in its 37-year history, including Super Bowls, major international soccer events, Formula One racing, the NFL, college football, concert tours and other global events."
"As we have stated previously, Hard Rock Stadium has worked with CONCACAF, CAF and local law enforcement agencies on security before and during CONCACAF matches. These agencies met regularly, including daily security briefings during the month-long tournament. Throughout the tournament and finals, Hard Rock Stadium implemented CONCACAF's security recommendations and in many cases exceeded them."
"As we do after all major events, we will be evaluating protocols and processes in all aspects of stadium operations. We appreciate the efforts of law enforcement and stadium staff to prioritize the safety of all spectators despite the unprecedented display of aggressive and illegal behavior by some unruly fans. At this time, we will not comment further."
