According to the Telegraph.
Chelsea
will be rewarded for outstanding performances by England international Cole
Palmer (name)
(Cole Palmer) and believes the 22-year-old will be at the club for a decade.
Palmer had a great first season at Chelsea, scoring 25 goals and maintaining his excellent form in the Europa League as well. Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City last summer, signing a seven-year, 12-month renewable contract with the club on a salary of around £80,000 a week. That salary is on the low end of the scale for England internationals, and is only a quarter of what Sterling is paid at Chelsea.
Chelsea are aware of this and plan to increase Palmer's wages to better reflect his importance and outstanding performances. However, it is expected that these adjustments will be made in private. Rather than announcing Palmer's new contract, Chelsea are more likely to privately adjust the salary in his current contract as a reward for him.
A source told The Telegraph, "Chelsea want Palmer to stay at the club for 10 years. So of course they will look after him and make sure his wages reflect his performances. There is no need for a public or grand announcement. The club will work with Palmer and his representatives rather than make a public deal."
Chelsea are confident that under new manager Enzo Maresca, Palmer will be able to maintain last season's form and even take it to the next level.
