Chelsea signed Giroud from Barcelona this summer, but the young player failed to make it into Maresca's plans for this season. In order for Giroud to gain match experience and improve his strength, Maresca decided to loan him out for a season.
Spaniards, who have returned to La Liga, have shown a keen interest in signing Giroud on loan. Spaniard manager Manolo Gonzalez appreciates Giroud's potential and believes he can make a positive contribution to the team. Chelsea have also made it clear that the loan will not include any buyout clause.
Giroud's loan will provide him with the opportunity to work and grow in the top flight, as well as help the Spaniard bolster his squad depth for the upcoming season.
