Adams

Set to face a lengthy absence due to back surgery. The United States international joined Bournemouth from Leeds United for a whopping fee of more than £20million last summer but has been plagued by injuries in his first season, making just four Premier League appearances.

Adams represented the U.S. national team at the Copa America this summer, and despite Bournemouth having advised the U.S. staff to tend to his injury carefully, he insisted on playing in all of the matches, including the friendly against Brazil. However, the U.S. ultimately exited in the group stage and Adams' back problems worsened.

Bournemouth boss Iraola said in an interview that Adams had developed a back problem at the end of last season and after a number of assessments and treatments, the decision was finally made to undergo surgery. Ilorra also revealed that he is not sure how long Adams will be out for, but it is certain that he will not be available for the start of the season.
