Aston Villa

The soccer club officially announced today that its youth training production of 21-year-old goalkeeper

Philip Marshall

will be based on

leasehold

form to join League Two club Crewe. This transfer move is designed to provide the young keeper with more real-world experience so that he or she has room to progress on the road to professional soccer.

In a statement released by Villa officials detailing the specifics of the loan, they confirmed Marshall's departure and wished him success in his new surroundings. Marshall has been growing up in Villa's youth system since he was a young boy, and last season he was loaned out to League One side Milton Keynes for the second half of the season, during which he made seven appearances and conceded 14 times against opposing attacks.

The move to Crewe is a new challenge for Marshall, who will have the opportunity to prove himself in League Two and improve his skills and game intelligence through constant match practice. It is also an important step for Villa in developing young talent, and the club hopes that Marshall will be able to gain valuable experience during his loan spell and be well prepared for his future return to his parent club.
