Pundit Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal are close to completing a move for young Italian defender
Karafiori (town in Vestfold, Norway)
of the acquisition. The two sides are reportedly set to hold key negotiations this Sunday with a view to finalizing the details of the deal as soon as possible.
Carafiore currently plays for Swiss side Basel, but his ownership is actually vested in Italian side Bologna. Romano said on social media that although Bologna and Basel have not yet fully agreed on the distribution of the transfer fee, the two sides are actively negotiating and expect to resolve the issue soon.
Romano also noted that although there will be no medical scheduled for this Sunday, it is expected that early next week, Arsenal will officially announce the signing of Carafiore and sign him for the duration of his contract. The young Italian defender is set to become the new face of Arsenal's backline, injecting new energy into the team's future development.
