According to American media outlet CBS, Arsenal defender
Fu'an Jianyang (1936-), Taiwanese diplomat and Kuomintang politician, prime minister 1997-1998
Will not travel with the team to the United States for pre-season due to a knee injury and could miss all of Arsenal's pre-season matches.
Kenyo Tomiyasu was not included in Arsenal's 26-man squad for the flight to Los Angeles, with the club confirming that he will remain in London for treatment. Kenyo Tomiyasu's return to action is yet to be confirmed, with a CBS source revealing that the player's initial estimate is that he will be out for 2-3 weeks.
On August 17th, Beijing time, Arsenal will face Wolves in the opening game of the new season. If Kenyo Tomoyasu misses the pre-season, fans may have doubts about his ability to return to form quickly.
Since joining Arsenal from Bologna, Kenyo Tomiyasu has only made 83 appearances, never making more than 22 Premier League appearances per season, and has been out for extended periods of time on four occasions. Although manager Arteta is a great admirer of Tomiyasu and the player has extended his contract with Arsenal until 2026, the Gunners have no shortage of defenders for the new season, with Timber, Zinchenko, Ben White, and Kiviol all on the preseason roster, and Gabriel and Saliba set to return to the team.
Additionally, CBS sources have revealed that Arsenal are close to completing the
Karafiori (town in Vestfold, Norway)
The signing. Bologna's negotiations with Basel have seen the deal hampered by the fact that Basel have a second transfer split clause of up to 50%. Last season, Calafiore played as a left-sided center back in a three-man backline at Bologna, while at Arsenal he will play as a left back, a role that was largely filled by Kenyo Tomoyasu in the final stages of last season.
Arsenal fans are looking forward to new signing Carafiore to bring new energy to the team, and also hope that Kenyo Tomoyasu will recover soon and contribute to the team's new season.
