Recently, Harry Redknapp, the legendary coach of English soccer, expressed his views in a media interview, strongly suggesting that the Football Association of England (FA) consider appointing either Frank Lampard or Steven Gerrard as the new manager of the England national team. Redknapp's proposal quickly attracted a lot of attention and discussion in the football world.

Redknapp pointed out that while coaches such as Potter and Eddie Howe are also solid candidates, especially Eddie Howe with his steady coaching style, similar to Gareth Southgate who was appointed England boss eight years ago, he expressed particular favoritism for Lampard and Steven Gerrard while highlighting the strengths of both coaches.

"If the EFL is looking for a manager with a wealth of playing experience at both club and national team level who can understand and control the game at a high level in a profound way, then I think both Lampard and Gerrard are impeccable choices." So says Redknapp. He firmly believes that the two former England internationals not only possess excellent tactical skills and leadership abilities, but also can win the respect and trust of the players.

Redknapp also singled out the positive attitude of the players towards Lampard and Gerrard: "The players would have loved to play for Lampard or Gerrard, and they would have treated both skippers with the utmost respect. Should they be completely excluded from consideration simply because they have failed in the past? If that's the case, then I'm afraid there aren't many coaches in soccer who are up to the job."
