In the soccer transfer market set off a new wave of waves, Bologna defender Carafiore is about to join the English Premier League giants Arsenal with a high price of about 50 million euros, the news not only shocked the soccer world, but also triggered a series of chain reaction about the transfer share. According to the latest report of the authoritative local media "L'Osservatore Romano", as the starting point of Carafiore's career, the Roma club will reap a sizable transfer share in this transfer.

The story begins in 2022, when Roma sporting director Thiago Pinto sold potential star Carafiore to Swiss rivals Basel for around €1.5 million. The deal was not a simple one, however, as Pinto cleverly included a key clause in the contract - Roma would enjoy a 40% share of Carafiore's future transfer proceeds. This forward-looking move is now showing its value.

The time came in the summer of 2023 when Basel resold the Carafiore to Serie A side Bologna for around €4 million. In accordance with a previous agreement, Basel then paid Roma 40% of this transfer fee, i.e. €1.6 million. But this was only the beginning, as Basel also retained a 50% share of Carafiore's future transfers, setting the stage for even greater gains to follow.

Now, Carafiore is close to joining Arsenal for a staggering €50 million, which will not only make Bologna and Basel a fortune, but also give Roma hope for a bumper crop. According to the terms of the contract, Basel is required to pay Roma a 40% share of this huge transfer fee. Specifically, in addition to the fixed part of the previously paid, Basel also need to Arsenal paid the transfer fee (or the amount after the proportion of the conversion) and from Bologna to get 50% of the transfer fee share of the 40% together to pay to Rome.

After deducting various commissions and taxes, Roma are expected to earn a variable portion of the proceeds from this transfer close to €8 million. Together with the fixed share that has already come to hand, Roma's cumulative income from Carafiore's multiple transfers will be close to the ten million euro mark. This is undoubtedly the best reward for Roma's forward-looking layout and shrewd operation.
