In his latest interview, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti opens up about the upcoming season, highly-anticipated French star Kylian Mbappe and his personal plans for the future.
Ancelotti showed an open and practical attitude towards his future. He confessed: "I don't really know when I will stop my coaching career. When Real Madrid feel that I have completed my mission, or they are tired of me, I will start to think about what to do next. I have some internal resistance to the idea of becoming a national team coach. I enjoy more the day-to-day work with the team, the kind of hard work and dedication that fulfills me day after day."
Talking about his relationship with Real Madrid, Ancelotti was full of gratitude and warmth. He compared Real Madrid to a big family and made a special mention of newcomer Bellingham: "Real Madrid is like a big warm family where every member is vital. Bellingham's arrival has undoubtedly surprised us, but that's more due to his outstanding talent and genes. Championship players are often shaped by these inimitable genes. Of course, acquired training can also enhance their performance to a certain extent, but genes are the decisive factor."
Facing his less successful experiences at Juventus and Napoli, Ancelotti showed maturity and open-mindedness. He sees these experiences as an integral part of his career, rather than simply failures: "Those are the paths I have traveled in soccer, and they have made me more mature and more aware of how to face challenges. I don't see those as unsuccessful experiences, on the contrary, they are valuable assets in my growth."
Ancelotti also expressed his views on the upcoming Euro 2024. He believes that the Spanish team has the strength to win the championship: "The Spanish team has great talent and strength, and they are fully capable of winning this Euro. However, I have also noticed that the overall intensity of this Euro seems to be less than in the past, and many of the quality players are looking a little tired, probably because they were under so much pressure in the previous season."
Finally, when asked about Mbappe, Ancelotti responded humorously, "Oh, Mbappe ah, he is a very good player. If he can join us at Real Madrid, I'm sure I can find a suitable position for him....... Of course, this is just a joke. However, Mbappe's ability is really impressive."
