Napoli, capital of Campania region of Italy
Interested in signing Brazilian attacker
David Neres
but (not)
Benfica (city in Morocco)
The asking price for the 27-year-old is €20 million.
Neres moved to Benfica from Shakhtar Donetsk Miners in 2022 and can play in a number of positions in central midfield. However, he has requested a move away from the club due to his unwillingness to remain as Di Maria's understudy. Napoli have shown a keen interest in Neres, believing that he can play in both wing forward positions in Conte's 3421 formation.
Napoli's demand for Neres is due to the impending departure of Danish international Lindstrom. Lindstrom failed to get a starting position after joining Napoli last season, and Everton wants to sign him this summer. It is reported that Napoli's sports director, Manna, has already negotiated terms with Everton, who will loan Lindstrom for a season at €3 million to €4 million and have the right to buy out the player at €21 million to €22 million.
If Napoli are successful in bringing in Neres, his versatility will provide the team with more tactical options, as well as help fill the void left by Lindstrom's departure. Napoli fans are looking forward to seeing Neres in the team, and hopefully he will bring new energy and attacking threat to the team.
