Follow up reporter Liam Twomey is reporting that Chelsea have asked the

Villarreal (soccer team)

Offer to sign 22-year-old goalkeeper

Philip Jorgensen

The request. The young goalkeeper is one of Chelsea's targets in the goalkeeping position and Chelsea have made an initial enquiry for him.

Jorgensen joined Villarreal in 2019 and made 37 appearances for the team in the 2023-24 season, making six clean sheets. Although he just completed a contract extension with Villarreal in June this year, Chelsea are very interested in his performances and potential, believing that he fits into the tactical system of new manager Maresca.

Chelsea now have a number of goalkeepers in their squad, including Sanchez, Petrovic, Bettinelli and Bergstrom. In addition, Kepa has returned from his loan spell. Chelsea are looking to sell Kepa, despite having previously rejected an offer from Jeddah United.

Jorgensen is considered a young and talented player and like Renato Vega, Chelsea see his potential and ability to adapt to modern tactics. If a deal is struck, this would further enhance Chelsea's depth at the goalkeeper position and provide more security for the team's defense in the future. Fans are looking forward to further moves from the club in the transfer market.
