For reasons of public safety, the local security services in Ancona, Italy, have decided to cancel the match scheduled for July 27 at the Del Conero stadium.

Rome, capital of Italy

exhibition game

.. The Public Order and Security Committee of Ancona took this decision mainly because the local fans of Ancona were very close to the Neapolitan fans, who were arch-rivals of the Roma fans, and feared that there would be clashes between the fans during the match.

In its announcement, the Municipality of Ancona said, "The Municipality had intended to make the match a great moment of celebration, combining the tourist attraction with the promotion of Ancona Sport, while offering performances by the Serie A teams. However, after reviewing the information obtained from the Rome and Naples police departments in relation to the tournament, and taking into account the results of the dialog between the mayor and representatives of the local fans, the Municipality agreed to the recommendations of the Public Order and Security Committee. All these factors combined show a picture that clearly contradicts the spirit of friendliness that is supposed to characterize the event. The risk of making any match chaotic must be avoided."

The decision has undoubtedly had an impact on both teams' pre-season preparations, especially Roma, who will need to rearrange their warm-up schedule. However, ensuring fan and public safety is always a priority. Fans understand the cancellation and look forward to the team's performance in other friendlies.
