The official website's interview talks about how he feels about joining Celtic and his goals for the future. Schmeichel has joined Celtic on a one-year contract and will once again work with manager Rodgers, who he worked with at Leicester City.
In the interview, Schmeichel said, "I feel great, it's a good feeling to be here and I'm really happy. There was an exchange between us when Joe Hart played here until he retired and he said a lot of good things about Celtic. When he joined this club I started to follow them and I saw Joe Hart get an impressive send-off, which he deserved, and he's in a great position here."
Schmeichel also spoke about his knowledge of Celtic, saying, "I played in Scotland many years ago, so I know what Celtic are all about. When I came back from my vacation I found a lot of Celtic fans in the hotel I stayed in, and even when I was on the plane there were a lot of people watching Celtic games on their phones, which demonstrates the popularity of Celtic all over the world."
On his goals for the future, Schmeichel said confidently, "Winning trophies of course! The most important thing when you come to a club like this is to win games, you have to go out and win every game you play in and I can't wait to get back on the pitch."
The addition of Schmeichel will undoubtedly strengthen Celtic's strength, and fans are looking forward to his performance in the new season, expecting him to bring more victories and honors to the team.
