Group C with Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Indonesia, the group stage will be played from September 2024 to June 2025.
According to the group schedule, China will face Japan away in the first round on Sept. 5 and will host Saudi Arabia on Sept. 10 in the second round. Previously, Dalian has been confirmed as the city to host China's match against Saudi Arabia, while Qingdao is expected to host the Oct. 15 match against Indonesia.
Qingdao has a professional soccer stadium with a capacity of 50,000 spectators and has submitted bidding materials in accordance with relevant regulations. The investigation team of CFA made a field inspection of the hardware and relevant supporting facilities of the youth soccer stadium in the early stage and considered that it had the conditions for hosting the event.
Qingdao has been shortlisted as a candidate city for the national football team's home matches against Indonesia on October 15th and Japan on November 19th, sources said. The final confirmation of which matches will be hosted is still to be made by the relevant authorities. This also means that Qingdao will welcome the Chinese national team for the first time in its history to play in the World Qualification Tournament.
