According to celebrity journalist Romano in his Daily Briefing column

Manchester United Football Club

Consideration is being given to bringing in a new left-back to deal with the injury problems of existing players. Malacia is back but still not fully fit, while Luke Shaw is often injured, leaving United in need of more left-backs to provide cover.

Romano pointed out that former Chelsea player Marcos Alonso could join for free after leaving Barcelona, but as of now, Alonso's team has not received any offer from United. There have also been no negotiations or talks between the two sides. However, free agent deals can be done quickly as there is no need for negotiations between clubs.

Regillon spent the first half of last season on loan at Manchester United, during which time he was very happy with the club and the tactical philosophy. According to Romano, no progress has been made between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United regarding Regillon's return to Old Trafford, despite the fact that he had a great time during his short time at United. If United decide to bring in Regillon again, the player himself would be very keen on the transfer.

Romano said that Manchester United will consider left back reinforcements, even if the current priority is other positions. Once United decides on a specific left back reinforcement target, Romano will be the first to inform everyone.
