Following the early termination of his contract with Chelsea, Sarr will not receive a salary for the final year of his contract. Sarr has reportedly reached an agreement with Ligue 1 side Lens and has undergone a medical. The Lens club is expected to officially confirm his signing soon.
Marlon Sarr joined Chelsea from Nice four years ago. In the 2021/22 season, Sarr was loaned out to Porto and played 19 games. He then returned to Chelsea and made 21 appearances during the season. In the 2022/23 season, Sarr was loaned out to Monaco and made 22 appearances. Last season, Sarr stayed in the Chelsea first team but failed to get a start throughout the season.
The addition of Sarr will bring more defensive options and experience to Lens. The young defender will take on a new challenge in Ligue 1 and will have the opportunity to show what he can do in the competition.
