La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that AC Milan are interested in

Bettis

Midfielder Johnny Cardoso has shown strong interest. Betis' asking price for the 22-year-old American midfielder is €25 million plus bonuses.

Milan are currently working on their bid for Fofana and Samardzic, but are also considering new midfield reinforcements as both Adli and Bennacer are likely to move to the Saudi side. Milan's asking price for Adli is between €15 and €20 million, while Bennacer's contractual release fee is €50 million. Milan plan to use these funds to bring in midfielders such as Cardoso.

Cardoso, 22, is an American midfielder, but he holds an Italian passport and therefore does not occupy a non-EU attraction quota. Cardoso moved to Betis from Brazil International in January for a transfer fee of €6 million. He is primarily tasked with defensive midfield duties, but is also capable of playing in a more forward position. Currently, his contract with Betis is signed until 2029, with a contract release fee of 80 million euros.

Cardoso, who represented the U.S. national team in the Copa America this summer, is teammates with Pulisic and Moussa, two Milan players, and he has a very good relationship with Moussa. This provides favorable conditions for Milan's reinforcement.

La Gazzetta dello Sport states that the Redbirds are working to expand the brand of FC Milan in the United States. Bringing in more American internationals will help them achieve this goal and increase Milan's influence and popularity in the American market.
