It was officially announced today that the team has signed former NBA player Alexander
Vizhinikov (name)
. The parties signed a five-year contract worth a total of 18.5 million euros.
According to European outlet Eurohoops, Vetzinkov signed a five-year contract with Olympiacos totaling 18.5 million euros. Earlier this week, Vetzinkov completed a buyout with the Toronto Raptors, for which he gave up $6.6 million to join Olympiacos without incident.
Vertinkov appeared in 42 regular season games for the Sacramento Kings in 2023-24, averaging 5.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game, while shooting 37.5 percent from three. He was traded by the Kings to the Toronto Raptors this offseason.
Olympiacos has high hopes that Vetzinkov's addition to the team will play a key role in improving the team's competitiveness in the domestic league and in Europe. Vetzinkov's three-point shooting ability and experience will bring more tactical options and depth to the team.
