The draw for table tennis has been announced and the Chinese team will face strong opponents in an exciting competition. Below are the detailed draw results and prospect analysis for each event:
In the top half of the women's singles, China's
Yingsha Sun (1954-), PRC female pop star
She is in the same group as her main rival, Japan's Kina Hayata. Defending champion Chen Meng, on the other hand, is in the bottom half of the group with South Korea's Shin Yubin.
Sun Yingsha will face Brazil's Takahashi Juliet in the first round, while Chen Meng's first round opponent is Algeria's Lochrebi. Both Chinese players have high hopes and are expected to do well again at this year's Olympics.

In the mixed doubles event, the Chinese pair of Sun Yingsha and Wang Chuqin will face the Egyptian pair of Assar/Meshef in the first round. Sun and Wang are seeded in South Korea's Lim Jong-hoon and Shin Yoo-bin. The Chinese pair are considered the favorites to win the title, and they are expected to go all the way through the tournament and achieve excellent results.
In the team competition, the Chinese men's team will face India in their opening match, and half of their opponents include South Korea and France. The Chinese women's team will face Egypt in their opening match, and half of their opponents include South Korea and Chinese Taipei.
