The entrance ceremony was unique. The Chinese team came out in 41st place and sailed slowly into the Seine River in Paris on the No. 16 boat. Flag bearers Ma Long and Feng Yu waved the five-star red flag together, symbolizing the spirit of the Chinese delegation. This Opening Ceremony is not only a celebration of the Olympic spirit, but also a feast for the mingling of cultures from different countries.
The Greek delegation, as the birthplace of the Olympic Games, has a special order of appearance. The flag bearer of the Greek delegation is NBA Bucks star Alphabet, recognizing not only Greece's sporting achievements, but also its important place in Olympic history.
The opening ceremony of the Paris Games was chosen to be held outdoors for the first time in the history of the Summer Olympics. This choice allowed for greater spectator participation and added to the atmosphere of the site. More than 300,000 spectators reportedly watched the opening ceremony live.
Instead of walking out on foot, the athletes of the national delegations were taken on a boat ride from the Austerlitz Bridge, a 6-kilometer voyage to the Trocadero Square on the opposite side of the Eiffel Tower. This design not only shows the beautiful scenery of the city, but also brings visual enjoyment to the audience.
The entrance of the Chinese team was timed to coincide with light rain, but this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the Chinese crowd. They cheered on the banks of the Seine, waving national flags and cheering for the Chinese delegation. The enthusiasm of the Chinese spectators and their pride in the honor of their country was undoubtedly a beautiful sight at the opening ceremony.
The Chinese team sent a huge delegation of 716 people to the Olympics, including 405 athletes. Forty-two of these athletes have won Olympic gold medals, showing the strength of the Chinese team in various sports. With an average age of 25, the team of athletes includes both experienced veterans and dynamic newcomers, demonstrating the youthful vigor of Chinese sports.
The Chinese team will compete in 30 major events, 42 sub-events and 236 minor events in this Olympic Games. We are looking forward to the wonderful performance of the Chinese team in the Olympic Games and add color to China's sports. Go China!
