According to the latest news from the Manchester Evening News, Premier League giants Manchester United are on the verge of a major reinforcement of their coaching team, as they plan to hire current Lillestrom manager Jeorisson to join Ten Hagar's coaching staff to focus on improving the team's set-piece tactics.
Jeorisson has a wealth of coaching experience in soccer, with particular insight and depth in set-piece tactics. He has worked at Brentford
He has worked as a set piece coach for a number of Premier League and European clubs, including Arsenal and Southampton, and has an in-depth understanding of the tactical system of English soccer.
According to reports, Manchester United intend to activate the release clause in Jeorisson's contract with Lillestrom, which is expected to require a liquidated damages payment of around £280,000, in order to prompt Jeorisson to leave his post early and join Manchester United after only eight months in charge of Lillestrom. The decision undoubtedly reflects the high priority United attaches to improving the team's set-piece ability.
Jeaurisson began his coaching career at Swedish club Malmö, where he started as a youth team coach, progressing to assistant coach and, at one point, first-team director of soccer and interim head coach. On his return to Malmo in 2022, he briefly took on the role of interim head coach before moving to Southampton in August 2023 as set-piece coach.
United have strengthened Ten Hagar's coaching staff a number of times this summer and the signing of Jeorisson is thought to be the result of Jason Wilcox's push behind the scenes. Wilcox has worked with Jeorisson at Southampton and speaks highly of Jeorisson's coaching ability.
With the addition of Jeorisson, Manchester United's set-piece tactics are expected to see a new breakthrough and improvement. In the coming matches, United fans can expect to see the team's performance in set-piece offense and defense to be even better.
