According to a new report from Sky Sports, Ligue 1 rivals Marseille are actively seeking to bring in Arsenal striker Nketiah and are considering raising their offer to facilitate the transfer. Nketiah, 25, did not reach his peak performance at Arsenal last season, but still attracted the attention of Marseille and other clubs.

Nketiah made 37 appearances for Arsenal last season, starting just 13 of them and contributing six goals and three assists. Despite the unimpressive stats, Marseille clearly see the potential and value in the English striker and have already reached a preliminary agreement with him over on personal terms.

However, the biggest obstacle facing Marseille is convincing Arsenal to release him. Nketiah's contract with Arsenal doesn't expire until 2027, and according to the German transfer market's evaluation, his value is as high as 30 million euros. This makes Marseille need to show enough sincerity and competitiveness in the negotiation in order to convince Arsenal to agree to release him.

In order to increase the likelihood of a successful transfer, Marseille are considering increasing their offer for Nketiah. This move will undoubtedly increase the competition in the transfer market and add more uncertainty to Nketiah's future.

For Arsenal, it will be a tough decision whether to sell Nketiah or not. Although he had limited chances to play last season, as a young striker with some potential, Nketiah's retention is undoubtedly important for the team's future development. However, faced with the lure of clubs such as Marseille and the possible high transfer fee, Arsenal will also have to seriously consider the pros and cons of this transfer.
