Despite being 38 years old, Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton still maintains his infinite love and persistent pursuit of soccer. In a recent interview, he made it clear that he is not yet ready to hang up his boots and retire, but instead, he is full of expectation and desire to wear the United gown again.

Looking back at last season, Heaton failed to feature in an official match for Manchester United, but he still contributed to the team in another way. As a member of the England national team, he was called up to Southgate's Euro 2024 squad and actively assisted the national team in training in preparation for the tournament. This experience not only kept him in good competitive shape, but also made him more determined to continue playing for Manchester United.

Facing speculation about whether he is considering a career change to coaching, Heaton gave a firm answer. He said he has no such plans at the moment as he still harbors a great passion and drive to get on the field. "I still have a desire to play and without that desire I wouldn't be here." Heaton's words reveal a deep attachment and disenchantment with soccer.

This summer, Heaton signed a one-year contract extension with Manchester United, which signaled that he will continue to fight for the Red Devils in the new season. For this new contract, Heaton expressed his gratitude and appreciation. "I know the natural progression of things, I didn't play as many games as I wanted to, especially last season. But my passion hasn't waned and it's a special thing to fight to put on that United shirt." His words were full of loyalty to United and anticipation for the future.

With the new season approaching, Heaton is well prepared. He is aware that his role in the team may change, but he says he is willing to take on any responsibility, whether it be as a starting goalkeeper or a substitute, and will do his best to contribute to the team.
