On the first competition day after the opening ceremony, the Chinese sports delegation showed strong strength and achieved excellent results in a number of sports such as shooting, diving and swimming.
In the 10-meter air rifle mixed team event, the 00-year-old duo Sheng Lihao/Huang Yuting won the first gold of this Olympics with an outstanding performance, which is the first gold for the Chinese delegation at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Sheng Lihao, also the first gold of this year's Olympics, has been the first gold of the Chinese delegation in the Summer Olympics since the 2000 Sydney Olympics, all of which came from the shooting events; Sheng Lihao completed the transformation from the youngest medalist in Olympic shooting to the Olympic Champion in a period of 1097 days. Another Chinese pair Han Jiayu/Du Linshu also performed well and ranked eighth.
In the diving women's double three-meter board event, Chen Yiwen/Chang Yani won the gold medal with a set of nearly perfect movements. Their performance fully demonstrated the strong strength and profound heritage of Chinese diving.
In addition, the Chinese swimming team also achieved a bronze medal in the women's 4×100 meters freestyle relay event and broke the Asian record. This is the second time for the Chinese swimming team to win a medal in this event after the last Olympic Games, showing the overall strength and level of Chinese women's swimming. Qin Haiyang and Zhang Yufei also performed well in the semifinals of their respective individual events, advancing to the finals of the Men's 100m Breaststroke and Women's 100m Butterfly respectively.
In table tennis, Sun Yingsha/Wang Chuqin easily beat their opponents with a score of 4-0 and advanced to the last eight. In badminton, the national badminton players also showed strong strength, all 7 players (groups) beat their opponents with a big score of 2-0 and advanced smoothly.
However, in some events, Chinese players also faced challenges. For example, in the men's singles table tennis event, Fan Zhendong and Ma Long were both challenged by strong opponents, but they both managed to advance in the end.
