Recently, Arsenal striker Trossard received an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, sharing in-depth information about his journey to Arsenal, his thoughts on the team's performance last season, and his own growth within the team.
Talking about the opportunity to join Arsenal, Trossard said that originally Arsenal's primary target was to sign Mudrick, but the latter's move to Chelsea made him an unexpected option for Arsenal. "I didn't think anything would happen, but after Mudrick joined Chelsea, Arsenal clearly expressed their interest to me. I am happy to join such a good team." Trossard revealed that an in-depth conversation with manager Mikel Arteta gave him a clear vision of his future plans, while Arsenal's good team atmosphere and warm welcome among the players allowed him to quickly integrate into the family.
Recalling Arsenal's regret of missing out on the Premier League title last season, Trossard said, "I remember we hit a low point in December when we didn't win a few games and didn't perform as well as expected. In a league as competitive as the Premier League, every team is improving and every player is improving. Therefore, maintaining a stable form and constantly improving ourselves becomes a challenge we have to face." Trossard emphasized that the team's ultimate goal is to win trophies, and in order to achieve that, they need to improve on last season's shortcomings and try to win more games in the new season.
Speaking about his growing experience at Arsenal, Trossard said he initially joined the team as Martinelli's replacement, but with his hard work in training and outstanding performance in matches, he gradually won the manager's trust and secured the starting position. "There is a lot of competition in the team and everyone needs to be at their best. The coach will make decisions based on how hard you work in training and how you perform in games." Trossard revealed that the close bond and common hobbies he shares with his teammates off the field also contributes to some extent to the unity and understanding within the team. "We would get together and play games, card games and even a game called 'Wolf', and these activities not only allowed us to get to know each other better, but also allowed us to bond more on the field."
Finally, Trossard expressed his expectations and confidence for the new season: "I believe that as long as we stay united, train hard and keep improving ourselves, we will be able to achieve better results in the new season. Arsenal is a team with a long history and brilliant achievements, and I am proud to be a part of it."
