The European Group A tournament ended in the early hours of Monday (24th), with hosts Germany forcing a 1-1 draw with Switzerland with a stoppage time goal from reserve killer Fuccolo, thrillingly retaining first place in the group. Germany will face the second-place team in Group C in the round of 16, and the current opponent will be Denmark. The Swiss lost the game to Switzerland and finished in second place. The other game in Hungary, Scotland finished third, maintaining the hope of qualifying.

Although Germany were certain to have progressed before the game, the leaders did not rotate Gossevin in order to secure first-place qualification, winning three consecutive matches in the same way with 11 men. The hosts started the wave well and took control of the game, with Xaviers' header from a corner too square on three minutes; Antreggi fired in a cold shot on 17 minutes, but Musiana was charged with a foul first and was overturned in the wave.

Switzerland survived the disaster and succeeded with their first attack on 28 minutes. Feo kicked it all in with a pass from the left with the Andunilon goal sticking out; a minute later Germany almost lost the ball again. Anduni beat Rudiger in front of goal with speed and shot off the post with a half-knife. Germany had nearly 70% possession in the first half but were trailing the side.

After the change of sides, Germany stepped up the pressure. Kolyanwadis lit up in a straight line on 50 minutes, with Musya sunning himself in the middle and being blocked by Ennishema. Germany then switched to Mesbia, Foucault and Lilezini, with big heads attacking frantically. Xaviers took the top and top of a corner header in the 85th minute. After two minutes of extra time, Germany finally chased down a 1-1 with a header from Fuclao, who met a cross from the left by Dallarin, to stay in first place and advance.

In the other Group A match between Scotland and Hungary, while Scotland had a lot of possession, it was poor on offense. Instead, it was made a mess of by Hungary's counter-attacks. Hungarian stalwart Willy Corbin hit his head in the first half, and Chieunsubos hit the post in the second. Hungary struck back quickly with a late strike in 10 minutes of added time, and Chyunsubov won 1-0 to move up to third place and still have a chance to compete for the best third place in Division Four.
