According to Germany's Bild-Zeitung, FC Barcelona has been in the news since its first visit to the
Leipzig, capital of Saxony, Germany
Midfielder Dani.
Olmo
After the offer was made, a second offer has not yet been submitted and the related negotiations are still ongoing.
Barcelona
The first offer previously made was €40 million plus €20 million in bonuses, but has been rejected by Leipzig. Nonetheless, a move to Barcelona for Olmo remains a possibility, but negotiations are currently stalled.
Leipzig, for their part, are insisting on a guaranteed €60 million offer and want the sum to be paid in a maximum of three installments, which is in line with the way Olmo's initial liquidated damages clause was set up. Despite the fact that the liquidated damages clause has lapsed, Leipzig have budgeted for Olmo's transfer revenue this year and are therefore still willing to negotiate.
Olmo's own impressive performance in the Europa League has led him to hopefully take the next step in his career and move to a bigger club. As well as Barcelona, Manchester City and Bayern have also shown initial interest in Olmo.
Barcelona are currently under pressure from Financial Fair Play and need to operate cautiously in the transfer market. Negotiations are still taking place behind the scenes and it remains to be seen whether Barcelona will make a new offer.
