Recently, Real Sociedad president Aperibe elaborated on a number of important matters during the summer transfer window at a press conference, involving player contract renewals, transfers, reinforcements and future planning.

Speaking about the renewal of Merino's contract, Aperibe expressed the club's positive attitude, pointing out that Real Sociedad is still very interested in renewing the player's contract. However, despite the club's clear statement that it is not negotiating with other teams on Merino's transfer, Merino himself has yet to give a clear response. Aperibe emphasized that if Merino finally decides to leave, the club will do its best to find the best possible solution for him to ensure that both parties are satisfied with the end of the partnership.

For Lenormand's departure, Aperibe appeared more understanding. He revealed that after learning of the player's willingness to leave, the club did not force to stay, but respected Lenormand's choice and started negotiations with Atletico Madrid. In the end, the two sides reached a deal worth 34.5 million euros fixed transfer fee plus 5 million euros floating agreement. Aperibe also fondly recalled Lenormand's eight years at Real Sociedad, expressing his gratitude and blessings.

In terms of reinforcements, Aperibe revealed that the team is trying to bring in Harvey Guerra to deal with possible personnel changes or to boost the team's strength. He emphasized that the team needs to always be ready and flexible to deal with various situations, whether it is bringing in new recruits or relying on existing players to fill in the gaps.

Regarding the future of Robert Navarro, Aperibe stated that the club would like him to remain at Real Sociedad, but at the same time respect the player's personal decision. He noted that Robert Navarro has not yet received any specific offers from other teams and that the club would warmly welcome his return if he is willing to stay at Real Sociedad.

Speaking about the configuration of the striker line, Aperibe said the team currently has three strikers, so keep a calm attitude. He emphasized that there is still enough time for negotiations and reinforcements in the summer transfer window, but the team will not blindly increase the number of strikers to avoid wasting resources and imbalance in the squad.

Finally, Aperibe also made special mention of the addition of new signing Javi Lopez. He expressed his delight at the addition of Lopez and revealed that the club had been watching him for years. He emphasized that Lopez showed great potential and strength during his youth team days, so Real Sociedad was ready to sign him in the future as early as three years ago. The addition of Lopez will bring new energy and competitiveness to the team and help Real Sociedad achieve better results in the new season.
