On the eve of Chelsea's friendly against America, the team's defender Colville attended a press conference and commented on the recent highly publicized Enzo apology as well as the team's performance in the last two friendlies.

On the question of whether Enzo's apology was accepted by his teammates, Colwell made it clear: "Of course, we're a team, and everything that happens is between us. We're looking forward to having a great season." He further explained the team's attitude towards Enzo: "All the players understand that Enzo is a great guy and that he is very helpful to the team. Let's just let this go now and move on. We all know what kind of guy Enzo is, I worked with him for a year and we know he's a good guy, and that's just the way it is."

Speaking about Chelsea's performances in their first two friendlies, Colville said that the team is actively adapting to new manager Maresca's tactical style, "We've made a few mistakes as we've adapted, but that's what pre-season is all about. We're building the team in a completely different way, which is exciting." He also showed his versatility and unselfishness towards the team, "I played a lot at left back last season and I'm willing to play anywhere to help the team. If the manager needs me to play goalkeeper, I'll do it!"

Regarding the preseason schedule, Colwell said the team doesn't feel overburdened: "I wouldn't say it's a heavy preseason schedule, none of us are complaining. We want to be at our best and are confident in the team's style of play." He singled out the support of the head coach's team, "The head coach has such a great staff behind him and they have been working with us individually and as a team."
