Portimão
. Portimão Man shareholder Theodoro Fonseca is in talks with the Suning Group for a takeover deal that also includes a training center for the club's U23s, with a 12-month transition period between the two sides and an expected completion of the acquisition in 2025, the sources revealed.
Acquisition Background:
Last year, Nottingham Forest owner Marinakis had offered €35 million to buy a 75% stake in Portimão Man, but was rejected by Fonseca. In addition, Chelsea owner Burley had also shown interest in buying Portimão Man.
Club history and current status:
Founded in 1914, Portimão Humanos FC played in the Liga Portuguesa this past season, but ended up in the bottom three and lost in the promotion playoffs and will play in the Liga MX in the 2024/25 season.
Active players:
Current Sanjin Korean player Park Ji-soo used to play for Portimao Man. The team also currently has Japanese goalkeeper Kosuke Nakamura and South Korean winger Kim Yong Hak, international players who add to the team's look and strength.
