The statement further added, "We have reached a mutual understanding with our professional player Rebic and have terminated the contract between the two parties early."
Rebic, 30, joined Besiktas on a free from AC Milan last summer. However, he only played for the team for one year before his contract was terminated. This termination ended Rebic's short stint at Besiktas.
Rebic has played for several well-known European clubs during his career, including Fiorentina, Eintracht Frankfurt and AC Milan. His departure provides Besiktas with the opportunity to reshuffle their squad and bring in new players.
