Championship assistant coach Craig Shakespeare passed away recently at the age of 60. In a public statement, his family said, "Craig's passing is a devastating blow to all of us, and we ask for privacy and protection at this extremely difficult time as we go through the pain of losing a very special person."

The family added: "We are grateful for the many well wishes we have received over the past few months, many of which we are unable to respond to. But for Craig himself and for us, all of these blessings mean so much."

Craig Shakespeare's soccer career began in 1981 and he was active as a player until 2000. After retiring from the game, he had a long career as an assistant coach and was instrumental in Leicester City's historic season. As Ranieri's assistant coach, Shakespeare witnessed the miracle of Leicester City winning the Premier League title in the 2015-2016 season.

Between February and October 2017, Shakespeare was briefly the manager of Leicester City. He earned widespread respect and affection for his vast experience and love of soccer.

The passing of Craig Shakespeare is a great loss to the soccer community and his contribution and impact will always be remembered. Leicester City FC and others in the soccer community have expressed their deep condolences and support to Shakespeare's family and friends.
