Galatasaray FC have not given up hope in a transfer deal to bring Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay to the club, according to a new report from Sky Sports Germany's Plettenberg, although they are aware that the difficulty of making a successful signing is increasing. Plettenberg notes that although a move to Galatasaray for McTominay looks increasingly unlikely, the Turkish giants maintain a strong interest in the Scotland midfielder and continue to hold talks with United.

Galatasaray believe that McTominay himself may not be inclined to join Fulham, despite the fact that Fulham are also actively pursuing McTominay and have made a concrete offer. This belief may be based on Galatasaray's knowledge of the player's personal wishes or their speculation about the player's career plans.

However, the United side is still sticking to its asking price of around £30 million over the transfer of McTominay. That price is a significant outlay for any potential buyer, but it also reflects United's recognition of the value of the youth-born player. Meanwhile, McTominay's contract with United is valid until the summer of 2025, meaning United have some initiative in the negotiations.

For Galatasaray, they need to continue their efforts to negotiate with Manchester United in the upcoming period and seek the possibility of lowering the transfer fee. At the same time, they also need to keep a close eye on McTominay's personal wishes and the dynamics of other potential buyers, such as Fulham, in order to formulate a more rational transfer strategy.
