Premier League promotion rivals Fulham Football Club are in active talks with Manchester United over the transfer of Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay, according to a new report from The Athletic's Manchester United follow up reporter Laurie Whitwell. Fulham, for their part, have submitted an offer worth £20 million to United to sign the 27-year-old midfielder.

Although this offer has not yet reached United's valuation of McTominay, it has been reported that the United side may consider selling McTominay for £25 million. This decision is largely based on United's financial treatment of youth player transfers, which means that transfer fees for youth players will be considered as pure profit, helping United to balance their books and raise additional funds for future reinforcement programs.

Fulham, for their part, are confident of signing McTominay and believe that the midfielder would be willing to move on in order to take on a new challenge and secure a more stable starting position in his new team. In addition, other clubs such as Galatasaray have also shown interest in McTominay, but Fulham seem to be leading the negotiations.

Tottenham Hotspur have previously been rumored to be in talks with McTominay, but as things stand, Tottenham are not considered a realistic destination for the player. This could have something to do with Spurs' other plans to bring in reinforcements in the midfield position or their assessment of McTominay.
