Fulham Football Club has officially announced an important reinforcement with the successful signing of defender Jorge Cuenca from Villarreal. The deal not only strengthens Fulham's defense, but also brings a considerable amount of revenue for FC Barcelona.
Jorge Cuenca's transfer fee is said to total €6.5 million. According to the previous agreement with Barcelona, Barcelona will receive a 20% share of the transfer, i.e. €1.3 million. This income is certainly a positive financial addition for Barcelona, especially as the team continues to invest in the transfer market.
It's worth noting that Barcelona have been getting a lot of money in terms of transfer splits recently. Previously, Shadi Riyadh from Betis to Crystal Palace in the transaction, Barcelona also gained a substantial share. Crystal Palace paid a fixed transfer fee of €15 million for Shadi Riyadh with a €2 million floating clause. According to the agreement between the two parties, Barcelona can share 50% of the proceeds from the sale, which is €6 million. Considering that Betis has already paid an advance payment of €3 million to Barcelona, Barcelona could earn up to €9 million in total from the deal.
These transfer share revenues are of great significance to Barcelona, as they not only support the team's financial position, but also demonstrate Barcelona's vision and shrewdness in the transfer market. Through sensible player deals and transfer share agreements, Barcelona is able to maintain its competitiveness and achieve financial stability at the same time.
