After making his Chelsea debut, newly-acquired Danish goalkeeper Filip Joensen spoke to the club's officials to share his feelings and expectations.

Speaking about his debut, Joensen couldn't hide his joy. "It's been a really busy time because there were a lot of new things for me to get used to." He said, "But I am very happy to take this first step and make my Chelsea debut. Now I need to keep working hard to get to know my teammates better. Keeping a clean sheet is the best feeling for a goalkeeper, although it's a bit difficult because I've only had one training session with the team and haven't had much time to get to know all the players. But overall, I'm very happy with my debut and the fact that we didn't concede any goals."

On the past few months, Joensen said that although it has been full of ups and downs, he is excited about joining Chelsea. "A lot has happened in the last few months, but I'm happy to finally be at Chelsea." He continued, "I just want to keep working hard now, get better, get to know the coaching staff and all the players better and the way we play as a team."

Joensen showed an open and positive attitude when talking about the rivalry with another goalkeeper on the team, Robert Sanchez. "Competition is always good, I came here to compete with others." He confessed, "Of course, it's up to the coach to decide who plays. But to be honest, everyone works well with me, Robert Sanchez too. He seems like a great guy and an excellent training partner. I'm sure it's going to be a healthy, healthy competition, which is good for all of us."

Additionally, Joensen spoke about the exchange with head coach Maresca. "We did talk a little bit before we signed." He recalled, "He wanted me to come here and I was keen to join Chelsea, so it was a very brief conversation, mainly to get to know each other a little bit. When I was in Spain, I always tried to organize the attack from the back and get the ball out through the goalkeeper's position, so I'm no stranger to that style of play. I also asked the coach about the way he wanted to play, but it was all very quick because I only trained the day before the game. However, I'm looking forward to getting to know his tactical style better in the future."
