Recently spoke to the media, detailing his reasons for joining Chelsea and the possibility of going out on loan. The newly promoted member of the Blues said that he is confident of joining Chelsea and is looking forward to the future.
Giou said, "Maresca told me there is a really great athletic program here full of young talent and he wants me to be a part of it and he has a lot of confidence in me and my skills and abilities."
He continued, "I think I'm ready for the Premier League, we work hard every day, both on and off the field, both physically and practice-wise, so I think I'm ready to play."
When asked if he would be sent out on loan to gain experience, Giroud said, "I'm just focusing on the pre-season tour and doing the best I can, that's all I can say. It was a tough decision to leave Barcelona but I've always wanted to play in the Premier League and this is a great opportunity so I have to go for it."
Giroud added: "It has nothing to do with my contract. I have always dreamed of playing in the Premier League and Chelsea is a great club with a long history. I am very happy to be at this club and it has been a fantastic experience. I am trying to do my best and get the best out of myself."
