It is official that the successful signing of 22-year-old midfielder Jonathan Varane has been announced. On August 4, local time, QPR posted an announcement on their official website stating, "Jonathan Varane has officially joined QPR on a transfer from Athletic Gijon for an undisclosed fee."
Jonathan Varane, who comes from the Lens youth academy, joined Athletic Gijon two years ago and made 25 appearances for the Liga B side last season. It is worth mentioning that Jonathan Varane is the half-brother of the famous French center-back Raphael Varane, an identity that has also attracted a lot of attention from fans.
