According to Mundo Deportivo, due to the huge value of the American market (where there are many La Liga and

Barcelona

fans), La Liga and FC Barcelona are once again considering putting domestic Spanish games in the United States.

Back in the 2018-2019 season, La Liga was interested in playing one of Girona's league matches against Barcelona in Miami, with both clubs backing the idea at the time, but the plan ultimately fell through due to opposition from the Spanish Football Federation (FEDEFA) and the Spanish players' union.

Things are different with the departure of former Spanish FA president Rubiales. La Liga president Javier Tebas has gone on record saying that they are making progress on this. Tebas believes that the goal of having La Liga matches played in the United States is more likely to be realized in the 2025-26 season than the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Tebas noted that the U.S. market is an important growth opportunity for La Liga and Barcelona to attract more international fans and increase the league's global reach and revenue. This initiative will not only help promote La Liga, but also enhance the club's brand value.

Currently, La Liga and Barcelona are actively pursuing this plan in hopes of bringing La Liga matches to the United States in future seasons to give more fans the opportunity to watch top-flight soccer matches live.
