Gonçalves then extended the lead to 2-0 in the 9th minute with a goal of his own, and Kunda added another in the 24th minute to give Lusitia a commanding 3-0 lead.
Faced with a huge disadvantage, Porto started to fight back. In the 28th minute, Gareno scored for Porto to ignite the comeback. In the 64th minute, Nico Gonzalez scored again to bring the score to 2-3, and just 2 minutes later, Gareano doubled the score to 3-3, and Porto fought back to send the game into extra time.
In extra time, Porto's morale was high and they finally scored the winning goal in the 101st minute by Ivan Jamie to win the Copa Libertadores with a 4-3 comeback victory over Sporting Lisboa.
