According to the latest report from authoritative sports media TA, Watford Football Club has officially accepted a transfer offer from Ligue 1 rivals Rennes for midfield star Asprilla. After in-depth negotiations, the two sides finally reached an agreement that includes a base transfer fee of 25 million pounds and a series of additional terms.

The 20-year-old Colombian midfielder has now returned to England to begin seriously considering this transfer opportunity. However, it is worth noting that although a transfer fee has been negotiated, the terms of a personal contract between Asprilla and Rennes have yet to be finalized. The success of this link will directly determine whether he can successfully join the Ligue 1 side.

Since his move to Watford from Colombian club Envigado in January 2022, Asprilla has attracted the attention of several European clubs with his outstanding performances. The technical flair, passing vision and relentless running spirit he has shown on the field has raised expectations for his future.

Asprilla was selected for the Colombian national team shortly after joining Watford and played with the team in the Copa America tournament. He was given a valuable substitute appearance against Costa Rica in the group stage, further increasing his profile and value.

Although Watford has always hoped to develop Asprilla as the future core of the team, they have to face the reality in the face of invitations from higher level leagues. After all, for a young player, joining a more competitive club will undoubtedly provide him with a broader stage and more opportunities for growth.

In his two years at Watford, Asprilla played 86 games for the team, scoring seven goals and contributing 10 assists.
